LUNI is pronounced "loonie". We're not really. LUNI is sort of a meta-LUG. Chicago is so big we've got at least ten Linux Users Groups (or similar) at any particular time.
LUNI itself doesn't really exist beyond the mailing list, which is fairly low-traffic, and #luni on irc.freenode.net, which is active every workday. The mailing list is used for organization and technical talk about Linux and hardware. The IRC channel is used for slacking, griping about work, cursing at mail servers, and miscellaneous tech talk.
